Dentists are very familiar with anxious patients, and often find that treatment takes longer and is more challenging. A dental surgery in Torquay has recently appointed a hypnotherapist to help people deal with the anxiety that often surrounds dental work.

Industry magazine Dentistry IQ reports that Riverview Dental in Totnes will soon offer clinical hypnotherapy to patients who are anxious and nervous about their visit to the dentist. 

Dr Andrew Pickering said: "Even though painfree dentistry is at the core of our practice philosophy, I understand that some patients still experience anxiety about dental appointments. We want to offer solutions to people including sedation and working with Chris to help them overcome their fears."
